PVC collection date extended to February 8 by INEC

Good news to those who are yet to collect their permanent voter card as the Independent National Electoral Commission has extended the deadline to February 8,2015 and not January 31 as earlier stated. According to the chief press secretary to the national chairman of the commission, Mr Kayode Idowu, the extension was to allow those who are yet to receive their PVC to be able to do so. He also revealed that INEC has taken delivery of over 65 million PVCs and that the last batch was about 3 million PVCs.

Among the reasons for which citizens are yet to receive their PVC was the fact that business operations are going on nationwide. To this effect, the All Progressive Congress has commended the electoral body for a job well done and has also called on the federal government to declare a two days holiday so as to allow a full concentration on the giving and collection of the permanent voter card. According to them, it would be difficult to allocate PVC to eligible citizens if this advice was not followed.
